Salute to the Military

Salute to the Military spotlights Mississippi Military Installations and the local Commanders that represent them.  Each year, this formal event draws a keynote speaker from the Joint Chiefs of Staff in Washington.  Past speakers have included Chairmen of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and Secretaries of Defense, including former secretary and now Vice-President Dick Cheney.  Another highlight of the evening is the presentation of the Thomas V. Fredian Community Leadership Award to an enlisted (E6 or below) military member for community service and leadership over the past year. 

The military presence along the Mississippi Gulf Coast has an impact of more than $ 2 billion on the area economy.  Salute to the Military provides local businesses and the coastal community at large an annual opportunity to pay tribute to our military neighbors and to bring to the Mississippi Gulf Coast the nation’s top military leaders.  This is an opportunity to demonstrate your company’s support for the military which is so vital to the economy and stability of the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
